Celebrated on November 19th, Women’s Entrepreneurship Day was established by Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) in 2013 to bring awareness to the hundreds of millions of women and girls living in poverty and to help empower each and every woman in the world.
Wendy Diamond created the movement. She is an entrepreneur who wanted to ignite passion in women to drive economic expansion, initiate startups, and become leaders and innovators. You can help show your support for Women’s Entrepreneurship by putting the spotlight on women-owned businesses. Check out some simple ways to help get women-owned businesses the attention they deserve this November.
Provide Social Support
Put your social media accounts to work by liking, sharing, and inviting others to like women-owned businesses in the area. Social media is a great way to draw attention to businesses with little effort. If you have patronized the business you are sharing, be sure to leave a review so others may learn about your experience.
Patronize Women-Owned Businesses
One of the easiest ways to highlight women-owned businesses is by patronizing them. When you spend your money at women-owned businesses, you provide them with financial support to help them continue their work. When asked about your purchase, let people know about the company. That helps put them in the public’s eye.
Offer Up Your Resources
In business, sometimes, who you know is as important as what you know. If you have the resources to draw attention to women-owned businesses, use this opportunity to do so. Whether it is in the form of a podcast, advertising, or a sponsorship opportunity, or even a local article, this exposure may help draw new clientele to that business.
Become a Mentor
Draw some attention to women-owned businesses and entrepreneurship by mentoring others. Thank and support the mentors in your community. Mentorship is critical for many women entering the business world. It provides them with valuable information they need and a strong support system to help them through their journey.
Help draw some attention to the women-owned businesses in your area this Women’s Entrepreneurship Day by throwing your support behind them to help them drum up more business and continue to grow.
